Sitka Columbine (Aquilegia formosa)
Sitka Columbine (Aquilegia formosa)
from 3.50
This perennial forms mounds of beautifully lobed, bluish green foliage topped by a multitude of nodding red and yellow spurred flowers. Very attractive to hummingbirds, bees, and butterflies, it’s a great addition to a pollinator garden! This species is found in moist, open to partly shaded areas from the lowlands to timberline. We recommend sowing in fall for ease and maximum cold stratification, but these can also be planted in spring if mixed with moist medium and held in fridge for at least 4-6 weeks.
